Janani Wijetunge
Janani is passionate about corporate sustainability and the potential it has to empower the corporate sector in Sri Lanka. Hailing from a legal background, she holds a LLM in Intellectual Property and Technology Law
from the National University of Singapore (2013) and a LLB (Hons) from the University of London International Program (2009), and is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka since July 2012.
She had previously worked as an Executive – Legal & Industrial Relations of MAS Intimates (2013 to 2017) and Operational Manager of the European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (ECCSL) (2018 to 2019). She has had the privilege of working with the Late Judge C.G. Weeramantry (Former Vice President of the International Court of Justice) at the Weeramantry International Centre for Peace Education and Research from 2007 to 2011, and apprenticing at the Law Chambers of Dr. Harsha Cabral (President’s Counsel) from 2011 to 2012.
Janani has participated in the European Union Visitors Program (EUVP) in 2019 and the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) hosted by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, US Department of State in 2011. As the Network Manager, her role is supporting the Executive Director in ensuring that the organization operates efficiently and effectively in pursuit of its strategic aims.
